Description

Requisition ID: CSQ128R179.

You will lead a delivery team of 8+ individual contributors who build and put into production solutions for customers' data and AI problems on the platform, while staying close to the technology and hands-on execution.

Your work covers delivery across the team and at account level, with Professional Services outcomes measured by bookings, revenue, margin, CSAT, and direct and Delta Cloud consumption (DBUs). You will coordinate scope and technical decisions with Engagement Managers and client stakeholders, building the team internally and managing accounts externally.

The company is the data and AI firm. Over 20,000 organizations worldwide, including adidas, AT&T, Bayer, Block, Mastercard, Rivian, Unilever, and 70% of the Fortune 500, use its Data + AI Platform for data and AI apps, analytics, and agents. Offices are in San Francisco and more than 30 other locations. Products include Genie, Lakebase, Agent Bricks, Lakeflow, Lakehouse, and Unity Catalog.

Responsibilities

  • Link the team's daily work to customer results and business impact, and share customer wins and delivery milestones so people feel motivated and recognized.
  • Keep the team focused on its top delivery priorities: steer effort toward high-impact technical work, cut low-value tasks, and clear blockers. Use delivery data and PS KPIs to confirm where to focus.
  • Hire strong PS engineers through structured interviews and realistic delivery scenarios. Make sure the team uses 2, 4 protected hours each week for technical learning and experiments.
  • Learn each person's strengths and growth areas and coach them regularly. Address underperformance early with clear feedback and firm accountability.
  • Clear delivery blockers fast, using simple automation or AI assistants to speed up routine work.
  • Hold steady inspection routines such as standups, project reviews, and retrospectives, and keep teammates accountable to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Turn the company's Culture Principles (Customer Obsessed, Truth Seeking, First Principles, Raise the Bar, Company-First, Bias for Action) into everyday behaviors, and make sure they guide every customer interaction.
  • Bring a builder and AI-first approach to raise team productivity. Review delivery plans and architectures using hands-on knowledge of the platform and of AWS, Azure, and GCP. Coach ICs on secure, scalable deployment, governance, and production readiness.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of total technical experience, including 2+ years managing, leading, or mentoring strong technical teams in data engineering, data platforms, software engineering, or AI/ML.
  • Solid technical background to assess architectures involving distributed computing with Apache Spark, Python or Scala, cloud ecosystems on AWS, Azure, and GCP, CI/CD, and MLOps or GenAI frameworks.
  • Proven track record running technical delivery, timelines, and scoping, resolving conflicts, and managing executive customer relationships, from individual contributor work up to Director level.
  • A platform certification is required, or you must have a clear path to completing it.

Conditions

Recruiter: Dina Hussain.

Hiring standards: you set a high bar for Greenhouse scorecards and interview calibration so pass and fail decisions are clear.

Candidates are considered regardless of protected characteristics. If access to export-controlled technology or source code is needed, the company decides whether to seek a US government license and may decline an applicant on that basis alone.

Benefits

  • The company offers comprehensive benefits and perks designed to meet employees' needs. Details vary by region and are available on request.
