Field Engineering Intern

Description

You will join a technical service group in industrial water treatment and work alongside experienced staff on water treatment systems. You will help the group meet its yearly targets as an active team member.

This is a full-time internship lasting 12 weeks, with an expected start in May 2027.

Responsibilities

• Build a full inventory of the equipment used to meet contract obligations, covering tanks, pumps, injection lines, online sensors, controllers and similar items, and record who owns each item and who is responsible for it.
• Use that inventory to draft a detailed preventive maintenance plan and work out which spare parts to keep on hand.
• Create tracking tools that show whether preventive maintenance tasks are carried out and that support accurate invoicing.
• Prepare system drawings and process flow diagrams for on-site manuals and proposals.
• Watch process equipment performance through online tools.
• Help complete the monthly reports.
• Carry out field checks on process equipment, including flow, pH, conductivity and chemical residuals.
• Team up with supervisors to find chances to improve how plant equipment runs.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical ability to help troubleshoot chemical feed equipment.
• Comfort with G Suite, Visio and online data management tools.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to set priorities and keep deliverables on track when the workload is heavy.
• Available to work full time during summer 2027.
• You are a rising junior or senior working toward an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry.

Conditions

The pay range is $21.32-24.21 USD. It is tied to market rates for similar roles and serves as a guide, so the offer may be above or below it, depending on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and internal pay equity.
