Field CTO, US

Description

The company builds full-stack AI, from frontier models and developer tools to applications and compute.

It works with enterprises in finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare and the public sector, designing customized AI systems that those organisations can run on their own terms.

The team is spread across Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior external technical voice for the company, advising strategic accounts on their AI strategy as a peer to their boards, CIOs and CTOs.
• Lead the company's Executive Briefing Center with your regional VP, a selective program for C-level stakeholders at strategic accounts.
• Build and maintain trusted-advisor relationships with CIOs, CTOs, CDOs and VP Engineering across your territory.
• Work with regional sales leaders in your territory.
• Publish articles, whitepapers and analysis on where enterprise AI is heading.
• Brief Gartner and Forrester on the company's roadmap and market position.
• Follow frontier research and bring relevant findings into customer conversations.
• Speak at major industry events through keynotes, panels and roundtables, and build a public profile that draws inbound interest from enterprise executives and the wider AI community.
• Pass patterns from executive conversations, such as governance requirements and deployment constraints, to the teams building the models.

Requirements

• A public record in AI, such as published papers, articles or talks, that sets out a clear and defensible position.
• A stated view on open-weight models and what they mean for enterprises adopting them, consistent with the company's own positions.
• Working knowledge of European data sovereignty and on-premise deployment, deep enough to hold your own with a CTO or VP Engineering who asks hard questions.
• Able to discuss technical architecture and business strategy with C-level stakeholders across several verticals in the same conversation.
• Able to speak credibly across financial services, manufacturing, defense and energy without being a specialist in any one of them.
• 10, 25 years of experience in enterprise technology, in roles such as Field CTO, Principal Architect or VP Engineering at a major cloud or AI company, or as a founder who built technical credibility and executive relationships through their own company.
• Prior Field CTO or similar externally facing technical role at a major cloud or AI company.
• An existing network of CTO and CIO relationships at enterprise accounts in your region.
• Willing to travel 30-50% of the time, depending on your region.
• Fluent in several of the languages used across your region.
