Engineering Manager – Configuration Management Services

Description

You will lead a growing configuration management team in Hungary that supports service execution for Heavy-Duty and Aero technologies.

Your job is to help shape a strong team culture, keep delivery reliable, tighten standard work, and keep people, priorities and processes pointed at business needs.

The role mixes people leadership, operational ownership, stakeholder work and continuous improvement.

You will help the team feel supported, accountable, included and able to deliver high-quality outcomes for customers and internal partners.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop the Hungarian configuration management team, making priorities, roles, expectations and development needs clear.
• Build a team culture grounded in trust, accountability, inclusion, collaboration and ongoing learning.
• Turn business priorities into concrete team objectives and make sure daily work matches service goals and customer needs.
• Track workload, capacity, delivery performance and quality so the team executes reliably.
• Work with technical leads, project stakeholders, service teams and global configuration management colleagues to settle priorities, risks and escalations.
• Take part in hiring, onboarding, skill building, performance management and succession planning for the Hungarian team.
• Push standard work, knowledge sharing and process discipline, and make practical changes that improve speed, quality and visibility.
• Lead with integrity, customer focus, ownership and respect, in line with the company Way.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field.
• Prior leadership experience, such as managing people, coordinating a team, or leading projects or operations in engineering, service, manufacturing or other technical settings.
• The ability to develop people, give clear feedback, run performance conversations and build individual growth plans.
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with a track record of getting people aligned across cultures, functions and time zones.
• A structured way of working, strong prioritisation, and the discipline to handle several topics and follow each through.
• Professional-level English.
