Description

The company is Iron EagleX, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, which delivers agile IT and intelligence solutions with the scale of a large firm and the flexibility of a small team.

The Senior Data Scientist supports the Intelligence Data Science Team in the intelligence directorate at SOCOM headquarters, located at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL.

The work centres on Python-based analytic services, web GUIs, automated data linking, and the full lifecycle of data processes, including machine learning applications with a Streamlit frontend and exploratory analysis of Commercially Available Information (CAI), Publicly Available Information (PAI), and other classified sources.

Responsibilities

• Lead major programs where needed, including taking a project leadership role.
• Build data-driven solutions to unusually complex business problems.
• Apply advanced tools and computing skills to interpret, connect, and predict outcomes in complex data, then turn findings into recommendations for business and analytic decisions.
• Assess how effective and accurate new data sources and collection methods are.
• Build predictive models that improve customer experience, efficiency, process quality, and other business results.
• Partner with stakeholders across the organization to find ways to use company data for business solutions.
• Design, research, and build advanced processes that could open new products or business lines.
• Run exploratory data analysis on structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, including CAI and PAI sources.
• Support machine learning model development and Python analytics, including entity resolution and applied statistics.
• Help with API data integrations, containerization workflows, and Streamlit-based GUI development.

Requirements

• Proficient in Python and Bash, including API development and data manipulation.
• Demonstrated experience with SQL and large-scale systems such as PostgreSQL, Hive, or Trino.
• Solid grasp of machine learning concepts and familiarity with Flask or FastAPI.
• Ten or more years of related experience, including academic or internship-based data science work.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Current DoW TS/SCI clearance is required.
• US citizenship is required. Due to US Government contract requirements, only US citizens are eligible.
• Cloud or ML-related certifications are preferred but not required.
• Data science, data sources, and Python programming are the core skill areas.

Conditions

Based on site at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL, five days a week on site.

Scheduled for 40 hours per week, with travel under 10%.

The likely salary range is $141,525 to $191,475, set by experience, geographic location, and possibly contract terms, and may fall outside this range.
