Description

The company is moving forward on a shared ambition, aiming to help its customers and businesses make sounder financial choices and helping the communities it supports grow.

The team is hiring an experienced Data Product Owner to set direction, plan the roadmap, rank priorities and deliver data products within the Investment Services Data Domain. You will be the main link between business stakeholders, governance groups and technology teams, turning business needs into governed, scalable and reusable data products for reporting, analytics, day-to-day decisions and AI-based use cases.

You will own assigned data products from intake through retirement, covering prioritization, requirements, adoption, governance and ongoing improvement. Product ownership and stakeholder work come first, but you may also help design, prototype and build foundational “gold” data products to speed up delivery, support modernization and create consistency across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Define and update the vision, strategy, roadmap and priorities for your data products so they match business goals and the enterprise data strategy.
  • Work with business stakeholders to find opportunities, collect requirements and turn them into user stories, acceptance criteria and ranked backlogs.
  • Run intake, prioritization and roadmap conversations, weighing business value, strategic goals, technical dependencies, risk and available delivery capacity.
  • Work with data engineering, architecture, analytics and governance teams to build trusted, scalable, reusable data products that support reporting, analytics, operational processes and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Promote data-as-a-product practices, including ownership, discoverability, documentation, governance, data quality, metadata, lineage and lifecycle management.
  • Drive adoption and improvement by engaging stakeholders, monitoring product performance, gathering user feedback and measuring business results.
  • Help build and evolve governed “gold” data products that make data more consistent, traceable, scalable and reusable across business and technology teams.
  • Find ways to simplify, standardize, modernize and consolidate data assets and reporting, including cloud migration and enterprise data work.
  • When useful, contribute to product design, prototyping, data analysis or development to speed up delivery and set up core data capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically 8 or more years of experience in data, analytics, product management, business analysis, technology delivery or a related field.
  • Experience defining business requirements, user stories, product roadmaps and prioritization frameworks.
  • Experience working across business and technology teams to deliver data, analytics or technology solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives with many stakeholders, competing priorities and complex requirements.
  • Strong skills in communication, facilitation, stakeholder management and problem-solving.
  • Experience managing data products, analytics products, business intelligence solutions or enterprise data initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, data engineering, data modeling, reporting, analytics and modern cloud data architectures.
  • Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, SQL Server, Postgres or similar.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, lineage, stewardship and data-as-a-product principles.
  • Experience setting product KPIs, adoption metrics, service levels and business value measures.
  • Experience working in Agile product delivery and managing product backlogs.
  • Ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting modernization, including moving data assets from on-premises to cloud.
  • Preferred: experience supporting Investment Services, Fund Services, Custody, Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency or other financial services organizations.
  • Preferred: experience with analytics or data product management beyond the core role.
