The company is a technology firm serving the US federal government, working on defense, national security, public safety, civilian and military health missions.
The team of about 13,000 people is part of global Accenture and focuses on using technology to help clients with their missions.
The work is hands-on, with room to build skills through certifications and industry training.
Responsibilities
Design the future-state architecture for data lakes, lakehouses, warehouses and streaming systems on GCP.
Set up data zones (raw, curated and semantic) and the standards for ingestion, ELT, ETL and consumption.
Choose and shape how BigQuery, GCS, Dataproc and Dataflow are used for scalable analytics and AI workloads.
Create canonical data models using 3NF, star schema, Data Vault 2.0 and wide tables.
Apply BigQuery optimization methods such as partitioning, clustering and materialized views.
Set least-privilege IAM, CMEK, VPC Service Controls, encryption, DLP and private networking.
Build governance using Dataplex and Data Catalog, covering metadata, lineage and data quality checks.
Make sure designs meet frameworks such as NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, HIPAA, PCI and SOC 2.
Design batch and streaming pipelines with Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub and Composer.
Build event-driven integrations with Cloud Functions and Cloud Run.
Work with Data Science teams to enable Vertex AI pipelines, feature stores and MLOps.
Make ML data pipelines reproducible, with clear provenance and governance.
Tune BigQuery (slots, reservations, BI Engine) and GCS storage classes and lifecycle rules for speed and cost.
Set up monitoring, logging, KPIs and data quality standards.
Define Terraform coding and IaC standards, CI/CD practices and DevSecOps patterns.
Keep architecture artifacts current and lead architecture reviews.
Mentor teams and support governed self-service analytics through Looker semantic layers.
Maintain architecture blueprints and reference implementations.
Set standards for ingestion, schema evolution and retention.
Review data models, pipelines, IaC and security designs.
Run proofs of concept, benchmarks, cost analyses and documentation.
