Description

The company is a healthcare organisation focused on improving health outcomes for people and animals. This role sits within its business intelligence function and supports reporting for internal teams and external clients.

The role is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, scorecards and visual analytics that give business stakeholders clear, accurate and usable insights.
  • Build, improve and support data transformation and reporting solutions using Databricks, SQL and enterprise BI tools.
  • Develop, optimise and maintain SSIS ETL workflows that extract, transform and load data from multiple internal and external systems. Understanding or experience in this area is enough to start.
  • Design and manage data models, semantic layers and reporting datasets that support scalable analytics, self-service reporting and trusted decisions.
  • Work directly with internal and external clients to gather and clarify business requirements, identify reporting needs and turn them into technical solutions.
  • Work with infrastructure, networks, web and application development, data engineering and other IT teams to deliver end-to-end BI solutions.
  • Set up and maintain standard methods for extracting, integrating and structuring data from enterprise and operational sources.
  • Analyse large, complex datasets to find patterns, trends, risks and performance opportunities, then present the findings concisely in business terms.
  • Develop datasets that support AI enablement models.
  • Apply knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including pharmacy services operations where relevant, so reports reflect real business conditions.
  • Build reporting for business performance management, customer reporting, operational analytics and strategic initiatives.
  • Check data quality, consistency, integrity and governance across BI environments through sound report design, documentation and validation.
  • Write and maintain functional and technical documentation covering report logic, data definitions, ETL processes and solution specifications.
  • Train end users and support them, passing on knowledge so they adopt and use BI tools and reports effectively.
  • Explain technical concepts and data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner.
  • Help improve BI standards, development processes, reporting frameworks and analytics capabilities.
  • Take on other duties and special projects as assigned, including occasional travel of up to 5%.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, data analytics or a related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of directly related experience in business intelligence, business analytics, reporting or data development.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Databricks experience. Related certifications are highly desirable.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Power BI experience, covering dashboard development, report design, DAX, Power Query, data modelling and publishing practices.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming, validating and tuning performance.
  • Demonstrated experience with SSIS and traditional ETL and data integration workflows.
  • Experience with Databricks or similar modern data platforms for analytics engineering or transformation.
  • Strong grasp of data modelling, data warehousing concepts and BI solution design.
  • Experience building solutions for varied stakeholders, including business users, leadership teams and external clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present complex information in a clear, business-friendly way.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate well across technical and business teams.
  • Preferred: experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare or other regulated industries.
  • Preferred: knowledge of pharmacy services, specialty pharmacy, patient support programs, reimbursement services or related business functions.
  • Preferred: experience with legacy or complementary BI tools such as SAP BusinessObjects, Crystal Reports or advanced Excel reporting.
  • Preferred: experience supporting both internal operational reporting and external client-facing analytics.
  • Preferred: familiarity with data governance, reporting controls and enterprise reporting standards.
  • Preferred: experience training users and driving BI adoption across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Core skills include Power BI, Databricks, SQL, SSIS, data modelling, data warehousing, ETL development, dashboard and report design, business analytics, and data validation and quality assurance.
