The team in the company's research laboratories builds the data architecture and technology that run development sciences and clinical supply work, with the goal of faster experiments, quicker filing and launch, sturdier supply chains and more reliable decisions.
The role moves the group away from traditional BI reporting toward a modern data foundation, with a strong focus on data engineering, custom web apps and agentic AI models.
The data covers the full clinical and commercial supply chain, from drug substance manufacturing and process orders through drug product packaging, quality notifications and global distribution.
The posting is open until 11:59:59 PM on 11/12/2026, the day before its listed end date of 11/13/2026.
The posting does not state whether visa sponsorship is offered.
Responsibilities
Design, build and tune scalable pipelines and architectures on Databricks, Python, Dataverse and advanced SQL, turning raw SAP, MES, LIMS and other operational data from drug substance and drug product manufacturing and supply into analytics-ready foundations.
Talk with supply chain planners, quality teams and manufacturing stakeholders, then convert their needs into clear business requirements and precise technical specifications.
Design, test and deploy agentic AI workflows and machine learning models that automate decisions and surface proactive insights.
Build and release user-friendly web apps for business operations, data entry and access to underlying data models.
Write and manage code in VS Code with AI coding assistants such as Cline, using GitHub for version control of scripts, apps and data models.
Work with data architects to design data models that are scalable, secure and efficient for both analytical and transactional workloads.
Document processes, code, data models and system architectures, and train and support end users as new tools roll out.
Help shape the data strategy and roadmap, guiding the move toward future-ready systems and intelligent data architectures.
Work strategically and tactically to simplify processes and remove manual work through automation and machine learning.
Requirements
Strong skills in Python and advanced SQL.
Hands-on experience with the Databricks Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake and Unity Catalog for data governance.
Proven experience building custom data products and rapid prototype front ends in Streamlit or React.
Working knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP or manufacturing system as a source of complex supply chain and manufacturing data.
Proven record of gathering complex requirements from non-technical stakeholders and turning them into actionable technical roadmaps.
Familiarity with or strong interest in agentic modeling, large language models and connecting AI agents to workflows, for example with Copilot Studio.
Proven experience working in Agile or Scrum teams, using Jira Cloud for sprint planning, estimation and tracking, and Confluence for detailed technical documentation.
Comfort working in VS Code and using AI-assisted coding tools to speed up development.
Strong experience with GitHub for version control, pull request reviews and automated CI/CD pipelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex data challenges.
Ability to build trust with technical and non-technical stakeholders and drive change and priorities across a group.
Excellent written and verbal communication, including explaining technical concepts clearly to audiences at different levels across the world.
Ability to make independent decisions and lead projects proactively to deliver results.
Required skills listed: agent based modeling, automation, CAPA management, clinical supply chain management, customer experience optimization, Databricks Unified Data Analytics Platform, data engineering, data modeling, data pipelines, data science, driving continuous improvement, manufacturing execution systems (MES), proof of concept (POC) and quantitative analytics.
Preferred: familiarity with pharmaceutical drug substance or drug product supply chain operations, such as process orders, batch genealogy, MRP/MPS planning, tech transfer, quality management or global distribution.
Preferred: experience with SAP (MM, PP, QM or SD modules) or related MES or LIMS systems, which is a strong plus.
Education and experience, either option: a master's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, supply chain management, operations research or a closely related quantitative field with at least 5 years of industrial, pharmaceutical or relevant data engineering experience, or a bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, supply chain management, operations research, management information systems or a closely related quantitative field with at least 7 years of the same kind of experience.
