Application Support (Senior)

Description

The role supports production applications, keeping them stable, available and performing well, with a focus on incidents, problems and performance issues.

The team works with development, infrastructure, Scrum teams and external providers to deliver lasting fixes.

The company is a European digital services provider covering consulting, application services, digital engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, platforms and infrastructure services.

Responsibilities

• Keep production applications stable, available and performing well.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve incidents, problems and performance issues.
• Take part in handling major P1 and P2 incidents, root cause analysis and continuous service improvement work.
• Run deployments, releases and change requests in line with ITIL and DevOps practices.
• Work with development, infrastructure, Scrum teams and external providers to build sustainable solutions.
• Set up and improve monitoring and observability across production environments.
• Keep technical documentation current and share knowledge within global support teams.
• Join on-call rotations covering business-critical applications.

Requirements

• You have 6+ years in application production support, infrastructure operations or a similar setting.
• You have strong experience with Red Hat JBoss EAP Java application servers, including performance tuning, heap dump and thread dump analysis.
• You have hands-on experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• You have worked with API gateway products such as Axway and Apigee.
• You have a strong working knowledge of RHEL Linux.
• You have experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK and Jaeger.
• You have experience with CI/CD and DevOps tooling, including GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD and Nexus.
• You have experience using Ansible and/or Terraform for automation and infrastructure management.
• You have working knowledge of SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• You have worked within ITIL, Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• You speak Portuguese fluently.
• You have professional working proficiency in English.
• You are available to travel within Portugal when required.
• You are available for occasional international travel.
• Experience in multicultural and international environments is a plus.
