Description

The company builds the company Identity, a product that lets businesses verify their users digitally using identity documents and other signals for fraud prevention, regulatory, and trust and safety needs.

The Identity Product Experience team owns the iOS, Android, and React Native mobile SDKs. These let businesses embed identity-verification flows in their apps and cover user experience, SDK architecture, document and camera capture, developer experience, security, accessibility, reliability, and integration with the company's backend.

The company serves millions of companies, from large enterprises to early-stage startups, with payments and revenue tools. The company's stated mission is to increase the GDP of the internet.

The team's longer-term goal is a trusted store of verified identities that enables frictionless verification across the company and beyond.

You would be building mobile verification experiences that businesses can integrate easily and their users can trust. The team is looking for engineers who care about mobile craft and the full user journey, who can turn complex technical and regulatory requirements into simple, polished experiences, and who are comfortable with ambiguity and learning new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain the company Identity's mobile SDKs and verification experiences for iOS, Android, and React Native.
  • Create polished, accessible flows for identity-document and selfie capture that work across different devices and real-world conditions.
  • Build reliable, extensible SDK APIs and reusable components so developers can integrate the company Identity easily.
  • Deliver features end to end by working across mobile clients, supporting APIs, and services.
  • Improve SDK performance, reliability, observability, testing, release processes, and backward compatibility.
  • Make architectural decisions that balance user experience, developer experience, security, privacy, and long-term maintainability.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, machine-learning engineers, backend engineers, user researchers, and other mobile teams.
  • Gather feedback from the company users and field teams and turn it into product and platform improvements.
  • Help set up and evolve mobile engineering practices across Identity and the company.
  • Operate and maintain the team's systems and SDKs, diagnosing production issues and improving them based on what you learn.

Requirements

  • Minimum: 3+ years of professional software-development experience, including meaningful work building and shipping mobile applications or SDKs.
  • Minimum: experience developing for at least one major mobile platform, using technologies such as Kotlin or Java for Android.
  • Minimum: strong software-design fundamentals and experience creating maintainable APIs, components, or frameworks.
  • Minimum: experience delivering mobile functionality beyond the UI layer, such as integrating with APIs and services, handling local state, or working with device capabilities.
  • Minimum: experience testing, debugging, monitoring, and improving mobile software in production.
  • Minimum: ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, design, and other technical and non-technical partners.
  • Minimum: a demonstrated commitment to high-quality user and developer experiences.
  • Bonus: experience building mobile SDKs, shared libraries, or developer-facing APIs used outside your own team.
  • Bonus: experience with both iOS and Android, or with cross-platform technologies such as React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Bonus: experience with camera, image-processing, document-capture, biometrics, or other device-integrated mobile experiences.
  • Bonus: experience designing mobile software that handles sensitive data and applies security and privacy principles by default.
  • Bonus: familiarity with accessibility, internationalization, mobile performance, and unreliable network conditions.
  • Bonus: experience with mobile CI, automated testing, release automation, observability, or developer-productivity tooling.
  • Bonus: experience contributing to backend APIs or services that support mobile products.
  • Bonus: ability to simplify complex requirements and favor durable, scalable solutions.
  • Bonus: comfort reasoning clearly and moving with urgency in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Bonus: familiarity with the company's products, ideally from integrating the company APIs or SDKs into another application.
