Description

The team is recruiting AI Platform Engineers at all job levels to help shape, build and run the infrastructure and services behind the company's AI platform, giving engineers secure, reliable access to AI models and inference services.

Several grades are open for this role. The successful candidate will be appointed to a specific assessed grade, and the salary range is the one tied to that grade.

The company uses a grade-based pay framework with broad bands. The published salary range is the approved band for this role, or a narrower hiring range set within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market. Pay above the standard range goes through governance controls to protect internal equity.

Responsibilities

  • Own the platform layer above the managed GPU infrastructure, covering model serving, inference runtimes, AI gateways and supporting services.
  • Make these capabilities easy for engineering teams to use while keeping security, performance and availability under control.
  • Use containers, Kubernetes, vLLM and AI gateway platforms to deploy and run scalable inference services, improve observability and performance, and dig into complex technical problems across the platform.
  • Help set engineering standards for running AI services in a secure enterprise environment, including systems with no route to the internet.
  • The team has a broad mix of skills and backgrounds. You do not need to meet every requirement. Sound engineering judgement, adaptability and the ability to contribute meaningfully matter most.

Requirements

  • Experience running shared or business-critical platforms.
  • Working knowledge of large language models and the practical issues of running them.
  • Experience diagnosing distributed systems and performance problems.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code and CI/CD.
  • Clear communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Curiosity and a drive to keep improving.
  • Useful experience, though not all required: Linux, application and server administration.
  • Useful experience, though not all required: containers and orchestration, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Useful experience, though not all required: AI inference and model serving platforms, such as vLLM, SGLang or similar.
  • Useful experience, though not all required: AI gateways and API management, such as LiteLLM, Bifrost or similar.
  • Useful experience, though not all required: GPU workloads, including performance, utilisation and resource management.
  • Useful experience, though not all required: programming and scripting in Python, Bash or Go.
  • Useful experience, though not all required: monitoring, observability and SRE practices.
  • Useful experience, though not all required: secure, resilient and scalable service design.
  • Useful experience, though not all required: authentication, access control, rate limiting and service integration.
  • Useful experience, though not all required: technical documentation and operational guidance.
  • You must be eligible for full security clearance.
