The company builds products for startups and modernizes legacy systems for enterprises.

It is a preferred partner of Cognition and pairs its engineers with Devin, Cognition's AI software engineer, to work faster than conventional teams.

The company is a small, founder-led team of product managers, designers and developers, and it is growing.

Founding members have built, designed and scaled products at Google, Tesla, Palantir, Peloton and Scale AI, and have connections to MIT, Yale, Columbia and Y Combinator.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of each customer's technical journey, from first deployment through activation to continued use, so they gain real value and not just access.
• Spot high-impact use cases by learning how startup engineering teams work, finding where AI can speed them up, and getting those integrations live.
• Act as the customer's voice inside the company, passing patterns, pain points and product insights to the Product and Engineering teams to help shape the roadmap.

Requirements

• Preferred: 3+ years building and shipping ML or AI systems in production as an ML engineer, AI engineer, or software engineer working on applied AI. Former technical founders are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Preferred: strong Python and/or TypeScript skills, with hands-on experience building and deploying LLM applications, agents or AI pipelines.
• Preferred: solid grasp of the modern AI stack, including model APIs, RAG, fine-tuning, evals and orchestration frameworks, and a record of turning it into working products.
• Preferred: customer-facing or client-embedded experience, such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer or consulting, is a plus.
• Preferred: high agency, comfortable in ambiguous settings with limited direction.
• Preferred: clear communicator with audiences from senior engineers to non-technical founders.
• Preferred: team-first attitude and the ability to juggle several customer engagements at once.
• Bonus: experience with AI agent frameworks, MCP servers or autonomous coding tools in production.
• Bonus: background in a startup or enterprise vertical such as fintech, developer tools or healthcare.
• Bonus: direct UX/UI experience or strong product sense.
• Bonus: a portfolio of personal projects you built or majority-contributed to.
• You do not need every skill above to apply.
• You will be embedded with startup customers from day one, designing and shipping the AI systems behind their products. The role suits someone strong across applied ML, systems thinking and customer work, who can turn a vague problem into a working production prototype within a week.
• You will work hands-on in a customer's production environment and also sketch new AI workflows with their engineering lead. The product specifics are not yet public. You will be among the first to bring new technology to fast-moving teams, representing the company in the field with autonomy, sound judgment under uncertainty, and ownership of results rather than just output.

Conditions

Salary range: $150,000-$200,000, or the monthly contract equivalent.

Pay is set based on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.

This is an in-person role in New York, NY. Candidates must live in the area or be willing to relocate there.
