Description

The company is an applied AI technology firm that works with large institutions to rebuild critical operations around AI. Its customers come from telecom, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, consumer goods, and global social organizations.

The company researches and ships technology that runs AI-native operations, both for partners and internally. Its work covers self-constructing systems, highly reliable execution of AI systems, and products that reshape mission-critical workflows. Its technology touches very large operations, including hundreds of millions of consumer interactions, tens of millions of supply chain transactions, and millions of patient journeys.

Investors include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, Coatue, DST Global, and board members from more than 20 Fortune 500 companies.

AI Engineers build and run production AI systems that create business value inside customer environments. This role suits engineers who work well with unclear problems, own their results, and want to make AI systems perform reliably under enterprise limits.

You will be a hands-on builder. You design, implement, deploy, and keep improving end-to-end AI systems alongside customers, subject matter experts, and other engineers at the company. You turn messy operational needs into concrete system behavior, build the software and AI workflows that support it, and improve systems through evaluation, feedback, integration, and production iteration.

This is not a demo role. Your job is to make AI systems work in practice, with real users, data, constraints, and responsibility for production outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run AI systems in customer environments, owning their behavior, reliability, and value in production
  • Design and implement compound AI workflows that join models, prompts, agents, tools, retrieval, evaluation, feedback loops, and execution into coherent production systems that fit user and SME needs
  • Write clean, maintainable Python services and application logic that connect AI capabilities to customer workflows, data platforms, APIs, and existing applications
  • Work on live systems by measuring behavior, finding failure modes, debugging, and iterating quickly to raise quality, reliability, and user value
  • Build evaluation frameworks, test cases, feedback mechanisms, and observability patterns so teams can understand and improve AI performance over time
  • Work directly with customer stakeholders and subject matter experts to learn workflows, clarify requirements, weigh tradeoffs, and adjust systems as needs change
  • Use AI-native engineering tools to speed up implementation, debugging, experiments, data analysis, and system improvement
  • Work with other AI Engineers, AI Strategists, and other team members to make practical design decisions that balance speed, robustness, maintainability, and customer impact
  • Own the production outcomes of the components, workflows, and systems you build

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience
  • Fluent French, written and spoken, with the ability to lead technical discussions and work directly with French-speaking clients
  • A sense of ownership for AI systems: you answer for whether what you build delivers its intended value in production, make technical calls, learn from system behavior, and stand behind your results
  • Experience building AI systems powered by LLMs or other models, including combining prompts, agents, tools, retrieval, evaluators, workflows, and integrations into end-to-end systems. You think about system behavior as a whole rather than treating models as black boxes
  • Strong engineering fundamentals: clean, maintainable Python and experience building production software. You understand versioning, debugging, testing, performance, code review, and production readiness
  • An AI-native way of working: you use AI tools daily to write and debug code, explore designs, analyze data, and automate repetitive work. You keep up with new model capabilities and techniques and apply them to how you build and iterate
  • Comfort in customer environments: you work directly with customer teams, ask good questions, adapt quickly to new domains, and communicate clearly about system behavior, limits, and tradeoffs in high-trust, high-visibility settings
  • A pragmatic approach: you move forward with incomplete information, handle ambiguity, and balance speed with robustness for production users
  • Willingness to travel 10, 30% of the time, depending on the project, customer needs, and your role on the engagement

Base salary range is $180K, $250K, depending on experience, location, and level
