AI Engineer

Description

You will help improve live trading systems, research infrastructure, and alpha generation as a Quantitative Technologist.

The company builds with modern C++ on current software and hardware and ships production code every day. Its work covers fully automated strategies, alpha generation, live trading, and machine learning research and simulation tools that process petabytes of data.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale the company-wide AI ecosystem and infrastructure that supports AI-native systems and tools.
• Find places in developers' and researchers' workflows where AI-first systems and automation would help.
• Design, ship, and assess production AI applications and advanced agentic workflows using RAG, semantic search, planning, and structured outputs.
• Build platform safeguards such as custom evaluation harnesses, guardrails, approval flows, tool-use limits, source attribution, and kill switches.
• Improve agent systems on reasoning quality, retrieval accuracy, latency, cost, safety, and user experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of overall technical experience, including 2+ years building and running Generative AI or LLM applications in production.
• A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
• Strong Python skills, sound software engineering practice, and a thorough grasp of the full AI/ML lifecycle, from data preparation through observability.
• Expert knowledge of agent frameworks and AI orchestration tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, and LlamaIndex, plus deep hands-on prompt engineering.
• A proven ability to evaluate and choose foundation or open-weight models, weighing capability, context length, hosting, security, and cost.
