Description

The company builds legal data intelligence software that helps users organize data, find the truth in it, and act on it. Its AI-powered cloud platform, RelativityOne, turns large volumes of complex information into insights for litigation, investigations, regulatory inquiries, data breach responses, and other high-stakes legal work.

Law firms, corporations and government agencies use the platform to surface and manage the most relevant information in their matters. The company also supports academic institutions through the company Academic and pro bono legal work through Justice for Change.

Engineers here use AI tools to design, optimize and ship scalable software faster. Work covers cloud-native architectures, AI capabilities and modern developer tooling. The AI supports privacy programs, flags confidential information and detects language that points to misconduct.

You would join the Unstructured Storage team within the Data Intelligence Foundation. The team runs platforms that host petabytes of data, manages Azure-based infrastructure, and builds storage abstraction layers, libraries and content-addressable stores so internal developer teams can store, access and use their data efficiently.

This role suits someone who enjoys hard problems, designing for scale and building tools that matter, in a culture that values transparency, innovation and shared success.

Responsibilities

  • Help design, build and run distributed, scalable, secure full-stack cloud services that process petabytes of data each week.
  • Build accessible, high-performance user interfaces and extend backend services and data pipelines.
  • Write clean, testable, maintainable code that has a direct effect on customers.
  • Work with a varied group of engineers and product partners to reach team goals and build AI-powered legal data solutions at very large scale.
  • Review designs and code, giving feedback that improves quality and maintainability.
  • Help keep services reliable by taking part in on-call rotations and incident response.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience designing, building and operating cloud-native distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with APIs, event-driven architecture and data platforms.
  • Proven ability to design and develop distributed systems, cloud architecture patterns and data-intensive applications.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code using modern tooling and CI/CD.
  • A focus on security and reliability, and strong collaboration across engineering, product and design.
  • Strong proficiency in C and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Familiarity with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Claude Code.
  • Familiarity with Agentic AI, including Agentic AI development and autonomous LLM frameworks.

Conditions

Remote or hybrid work.

Equal opportunity: candidates are considered without regard to background.

Benefits

  • Impactful work for Fortune 500 enterprises and leading law firms handling high-stakes matters.
  • Exposure across the stack, from distributed systems to AI-enabled workflows.
  • Continuous delivery, strong observability and end-to-end ownership.
  • Volunteer opportunities and company-sponsored charitable programs.
  • Competitive salary, health and retirement programs, wellness resources, discretionary time off, parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers, two annual company breaks, a home office stipend and an equity program.
  • Total compensation includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus and long-term incentives.
  • Salary range: $103,000 to $155,000. The final offer depends on experience, skill set, qualifications and internal pay equity. Offers at the top of the range are not typical, leaving room for future salary growth in the role.
