Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is seeking a  Director to serve as the subject matter expert for card portfolio optimization across the  Latin America and Caribbean region . This role will lead the development, governance, and scaling of portfolio optimization capabilities by defining standards, shaping data- and AI-enabled solutions, enabling regional collaboration, and supporting adoption across markets.

The Director will work closely with regional and market teams, Visa cross-functional partners, and VCA leadership to connect  Visa capabilities, VCA services, industry knowledge, and client needs  into practical, scalable solutions. The role also includes responsibility for strategic initiative governance, change management, communications, training, and agile facilitation to ensure successful execution and adoption.

The successful candidate will bring strong experience in  payments, card portfolio management, analytics, consulting, project management, and business transformation , with the ability to combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a lean team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a credit and debit card portfolio management consulting subject matter expert , advising clients and internal teams on portfolio growth, lifecycle management—including acquisition, activation, usage, cross- sell , loyalty, retention, and attrition management—performance improvement, and client impact opportunities.
  • Define and maintain portfolio optimization consulting standards , including methodologies, business rules, recommendation frameworks, delivery guidelines, diagnostic approaches, and reusable advisory assets.
  • Shape data-, analytics-, and AI-enabled advisory capabilities by defining, assessing, and approving business requirements, use cases, outputs, insights, and implementation considerations .
  • Build scalable consulting frameworks , playbooks, templates, and training materials to standardize card portfolio optimization delivery across markets.
  • Partner with regional and market teams to promote collaboration , share best practices, capture lessons learned, and scale proven approaches .
  • Support Visa and VCA strategic priorities by connecting VCA advisory services, Visa capabilities, industry expertise, and client needs into actionable recommendations.
  • Govern strategic consulting initiatives by managing priorities, tracking progress, identifying risks and dependencies, and maintaining clear documentation, action plans, and executive-ready status materials.
  • Drive change management and adoption efforts , including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and practical use of AI tools and analytical capabilities.
  • Facilitate agile ways of working for AI squads or cross-functional workstreams , supporting routines, coordination, issue resolution, and progress tracking.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while remaining hands-on in execution , directly driving key consulting workstreams, deliverables, analysis, materials, and stakeholder coordination due to the lean team structure.
  • This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of relevant experience   in card portfolio management , consulting, analytics, strategy and business transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of  banking operations, payment schemes, and card portfolio management , including products and services, business systems, processes, marketing initiatives, and performance levers.
  • Proven experience using  financial and business performance indicators  to assess portfolio health, measure impact, identify opportunities, and support data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience leading initiatives related to  card portfolio optimization, project management, operational efficiency, and change management , preferably within payments, banking, financial services, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to  lead and develop teams , set priorities, manage performance, and influence effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required , preferably in a quantitative, analytical, or business-related field such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, science, or business administration; advanced degree preferred .
  • Required Skills:
  • Strong  analytical and strategic problem-solving skills , with demonstrated intellectual rigor and ability to translate complex business challenges into practical recommendations.
  • High level of  ownership and results orientation , with the ability to manage multiple priorities, operate independently, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent  stakeholder management and partnership-building skills , with the ability to influence senior leaders, market teams, clients, and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong  communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills , including the ability to simplify complex topics and tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Collaborative  team player  with the ability to work effectively across geographies, functions, and levels of seniority.
  • Strong  technology and digital mindset , with curiosity and practical understanding of digital trends, AI applications, analytics tools, and emerging technologies.
  • Working knowledge of  data visualization and business intelligence tools , such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Fluency in English required , along with professional proficiency in either  Spanish or Portuguese .

  • For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $163,500.00 to $ 261,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
