We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join the Brain-Computer Interface team at Snap Inc!

In this role, you will be working in a small team writing efficient code for our most exciting products, solving some of our industry’s toughest challenges and developing the next generation of wearable device sensing. Working from our Paris office (9th arrondissement), you will be collaborating closely with other Specs hardware and software teams around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate systems for sensor data acquisition and ML inference with robust real-time performance
  • Work closely with embedded systems and ML teams to enable complex software to run efficiently on wearable hardware and cloud backends
  • Design and implement tools for analyzing performance and quality of our algorithms
  • Write clean, well designed and tested code
  • Communicate technical tradeoffs clearly through design docs and reviews
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge in C++
  • Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
  • Comfortable with large code bases, code reviews and version control (git)
  • Great spoken and written communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to isolate root causes across different software systems
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • BSc in Computer Science, or equivalent field
  • At least 2 years of experience in C++ software development
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience with version control (git)
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with asynchronous programming, real-time systems, digital signal processing, time series analysis, EEG or other physiological sensing systems
  • Experience developing software for wearable devices and sensor systems
  • Experience collaborating across hardware, software and ML teams to resolve system integration issues
  • Experience with continuous integration and code quality tools
  • Experience using AI tools to support engineering workflows
