We build the embodied intelligence that moves real vehicles safely, and the ecosystem a billion machines will run on in the future. Very few people in AI can say this. Every role here, whatever the team, plugs into that.
Here’s what this particular role covers.
About our Engineering Teams
Our Fleet Management team builds the platform that connects Wayve’s engineers and operators with a global fleet of autonomous vehicles and data-collection devices. From software deployment and vehicle health to robotaxi operations, our services give teams the visibility and control they need to operate confidently as the fleet grows.
You’ll join an early-stage team working across web applications, backend services, embedded APIs and cloud infrastructure. With multiple OEM integrations and vehicle configurations to support, you’ll help shape both the systems we build and the engineering practices behind them.
Your day-to-day
Own meaningful projects from problem definition through design, implementation, deployment and production operation.
Partner with Product, Research, Safety, Operations, SRE and Infrastructure to turn complex fleet needs into reliable services and intuitive tools.
Contribute to architecture and planning, and validate ideas through prototypes.
Write well-tested code and review changes with your peers.
Make technical trade-offs that improve fleet visibility, reduce friction for users and keep systems dependable as deployments scale.
Support other engineers’ growth through feedback and shared technical learning.
What you’ll be working on
Reliable deployment workflows for software, AI models and configuration across vehicles that may be intermittently connected, including correctness, ordering and rollback.
Services connecting Wayve vehicles with external dispatch systems to support robotaxi and remote autonomous operations.
APIs and web interfaces that make vehicle state visible and help engineers diagnose issues quickly and confidently.
Tools for exploring vehicle telemetry and operational data, alongside reporting on utilization, performance and mission outcomes.
Scalable, observable full-stack systems whose quality, maintainability and evolution you own in production.
You should apply if
You have experience building, shipping and operating production full-stack applications and web services.
You bring hands-on depth across frontend, backend and infrastructure. Our stack includes React, TypeScript and MUI; Rust, Go and Node.js; and Kubernetes, Azure and Bazel. Experience with it is a plus, not a requirement.
You have independently owned projects from an ambiguous problem through technical design, delivery and ongoing operation.
You understand API contracts, data modeling, service boundaries and the reliability, consistency, scalability and failure modes of distributed systems.
You use metrics, logs and traces to understand production behavior and guide decisions.
You communicate clearly across engineering, product and operational teams, and enjoy mentoring and improving engineering practices.
Experience with robotics, autonomy, robotaxi operations, telemetry pipelines, OTA deployment, remote device management or multi-OEM environments would be valuable, but is not essential.
Not ticking every box? That’s totally okay! If you’re passionate about autonomy and keen to learn, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement.
More about Wayve:
Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving. We are pioneering an end to end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real world experience, developing the ability to adapt, generalise and improve at scale. Instead of relying on hand coded rules or pre mapped environments, our AI Driver learns to drive by understanding the world around it. The result is technology that navigates complex urban environments with intelligence, precision and natural flow, unlocking meaningful advances in both safety and efficiency. We believe autonomy represents a once in a generation transformation in how people and goods move, comparable to the shift from horses to cars, and from human driven vehicles to intelligent machines.
Our ambition is to make autonomy universal. Wayve’s mapless and hardware agnostic AI platform integrates with global OEM partners, enabling continuous software evolution and unlocking advanced levels of automation from L2 plus through to L4 as our core AI model scales. In a race increasingly defined by intelligence and real world learning, Wayve is taking a distinct approach, building a generalisable driving intelligence that can power any vehicle, anywhere. By combining embodied AI with scalable deployment, we are creating technology that can be shaped to each OEM brand and driver experience, accelerating the transition to a safer, more intelligent future of mobility.
Our main hubs are in London, Sunnyvale, Yokohama, Herzliya, Vancouver and Leonberg. We operate a hybrid working model that combines in-person collaboration in our dedicated office spaces with focused time working remotely. This gives our teams the connection and energy of working together, alongside the flexibility to do their best work in a way that fits their lives.
