Description

The Senior Software Development Engineer L4 is expected to successfully work through complex tasks independently, understand the intricacies of the software development life cycle, and display strong adherence to fundamental software engineering principles in the production of software. This position contributes to RCMi, Inovalon’s analytics product that ingests and transforms data from CMP, loads it into a proprietary database, and surfaces it through client-facing reports and visualizations. The engineer works across a full stack including Angular, C, REST APIs, SQL, Snowflake, AWS, and Power BI, on a small and highly collaborative team building a web application from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively to write high quality, testable code that meets the team’s Definition of Done; utilize a test-first approach where possible;
  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack features across front-end, back-end, and API layers in support of the RCMi analytics platform;
  • Build, maintain, and optimize data-driven reports and dashboards that surface healthcare claims, remits, and related data for client-facing visualization;
  • Support data ingestion and transformation pipelines that move source data into RCMi’s database for reporting and analytics;
  • Handle PHI and PII data with appropriate care, adhering to security standards and privacy best practices;
  • Participate in design and code reviews; contribute to end of iteration demos and team retrospectives;
  • Work with product management to scope, estimate, and deliver enhancements; actively participate in change management as business and technical scope evolves;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, regulatory, and other such policies, procedures, and requirements as outlined within Employer’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the scope of work;
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement, and fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success;
  • On-Call Policy: Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical issues, including outside standard business hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays), ensuring timely response and resolution as per defined SLAs.
  • Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or full-stack web development;
  • Advanced SQL skills required, including MSSQL and Snowflake; experience with triage, performance tuning, and feature development;
  • Full-stack proficiency required: Angular front-end, C back-end, and REST API development;
  • Strong Power BI skills required, including DAX, data modeling, and report building and maintenance;
  • Solid AWS experience; familiarity with cloud-native architecture and deployment practices.
  • Experience working with healthcare data and healthcare organizations; understanding of PHI, PII, and security and privacy compliance requirements;
  • Demonstrated ability to take ideas from stakeholder proposal through to completion; a creative problem solver with a growth mindset;
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills; comfortable operating on a small, high-ownership team.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology required;
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship (e.g. H-1B, TN, or E-3). Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States as a condition of employment. (This is only applicable for US-based positions)
