We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions

About the role

We're looking for a Product Designer who can blend tools and HMI design to shape the software our fleet, mission control, and vehicle management systems run on. As part of Applied Intuition's design team, you will play a critical role in shaping the design direction of this new project with strategic importance to Applied Intuition.

At Applied Intuition, you will:

Lead design across fleet management, mission control systems, OTA update flows, vehicle management software, and our internal "workbench" vehicle OS tooling.

Move fluidly between defense and commercial/trucking use cases, treating them as related design problems.

Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to create and validate design solutions across tools and vehicle interfaces.

Work quickly to ship new features in fast release cycles.

Take on significant ownership and autonomy — this role is designed as an accelerator for someone ready to lead.

We're looking for someone who has:

5-7 years of experience in product, tools, or interaction design, spanning enterprise, commercial, or consumer-facing products.

Bachelors' degree in design or relevant field

Strong visual and interaction design skills.

Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

An entrepreneurial mindset — comfort taking ownership of ambiguous problems with minimal oversight.

Requirements

  • Background in game design or interactive/real-time systems
  • Experience at defense, space, or robotics companies
  • Experience at AI/agentic companies
  • Experience building 0-to-1 tools or internal software platforms.

Conditions

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off.
