Key takeaways
- A search by one thing (frontend, remote, the UK) returns far more roles than anyone can read; two things together is where a search becomes useful.
- Every role on the board combined with a work model, a level or a place has its own page, and 430 of those pages hold ten or more open roles.
- The level filter reads the title first, so Staff and Principal count as senior and a product manager is not counted as a people manager.
- Where the role is and where you may live are two separate questions; remote roles answer the second one with Remote from.
- Save the search once you’ve narrowed it, so new roles that match come to you instead of you going back for them.
On 3 October 2026 the board had 1,352 open frontend roles. Nobody reads 1,352 roles. What people actually look for is narrower: senior frontend, remote backend, data roles in the United Kingdom. This guide shows how to get straight to that list, and how to keep it without searching again every day.
Start with the role, then add one thing
Every search here has two parts. The role is a field (development, data, product, design...) and, inside it, a specialty (backend, machine learning, product management...). Then comes one of three things that narrows it:
- How you work: remote, hybrid or on-site.
- Your level: junior, mid-level, senior, or lead and manager.
- Where the role is: a country, Europe as a whole, or a part of it (DACH, the Nordics, Benelux, Southern Europe).
Pick a field and a specialty, then choose one of these in the filters, and the address changes to a page of its own: Senior Frontend Developer Jobs, Remote Backend Developer Jobs, Developer Jobs in Canada. You can bookmark it, share it, or come back to it from search.
The searches people make most
| If you're looking for | Open this page | Open roles |
|---|---|---|
| Remote developer work | Remote Developer Jobs | 1,018 |
| Remote backend work | Remote Backend Developer Jobs | 745 |
| A senior frontend role | Senior Frontend Developer Jobs | 804 |
| A senior machine learning role | Senior Machine Learning Engineer Jobs | 476 |
| Backend work in Europe | Backend Developer Jobs in Europe | 586 |
| Product management in the US | Product Manager Jobs in the United States | 676 |
| Developer work in Canada | Developer Jobs in Canada | 388 |
| Developer work in the UK | Developer Jobs in the United Kingdom | 276 |
| A first developer role | Junior Developer Jobs | 433 |
| A lead or manager role in engineering | Lead Developer Jobs | 743 |
The counts are from 3 October 2026 and change every day; each page shows its own live number. Of all the combinations of a role with one of these, 430 held ten or more open roles that day. Below ten, a page still works, it just has too little on it to be worth finding in search.
What each page gives you
- The roles themselves, newest first, or by salary if you switch the sort.
- Its own numbers: how many are open, how many were posted in the last seven days, the typical salary of the ones that state it, and the skills asked for most.
- Answers to the usual questions (how many are remote, what they pay), worked out from the roles on the page.
- Related searches: the same role one step wider, and the same narrowing for neighbouring roles, such as Senior Fullstack next to Senior Frontend.
How the level filter reads a role
Postings don’t agree on what “senior” means, so the level comes from the title first, then from the years of experience the posting asks for. A few rules are worth knowing:
- Staff and Principal roles count as senior. If you’re senior, they’re in your list, not hidden under lead.
- “Manager” after a function is the function. A product manager, project manager or marketing manager is not a people manager, so they’re not filed under lead.
- Lead & Manager is for roles that lead people or a team: engineering managers, heads of, team leads.
- If nothing in a posting says its level, it has none, and it won’t appear when you filter by one. That’s deliberate: every role you see under a level is there for a reason.
Where the role is, and where you can live
These are two different questions, and mixing them up is the most common way to miss roles you could take.
- Region and country say where the role is: where the office is, or where the company hires. Jobs in the United Kingdom are roles based there.
- Remote from says where you may live while doing a remote role. Choose Remote, then pick an area or your own country, and you’ll see the remote roles open to someone living there, including the ones that hire from anywhere.
- For hybrid and on-site roles, Office location narrows down to the country, the state and the city.
Going narrower
A role with one narrowing is a page. Add a second one (Senior and Remote, say) and the list narrows further, with the filters in its address so you can still share it; it’s your view rather than a page of its own. Beyond that, the full filters window has the details: tech stack, salary floor, relocation, visa sponsorship, and Hide titles containing, which takes words like “Sales” or “Clearance” out of your list for good.
Keep the search instead of repeating it
Once a list looks right, press Save Search next to the title. The search is kept on your account with its filters, it shows how many roles match right now, and new roles that match it arrive in your notifications, so you don’t have to remember to come back.
If you’d rather not build the search yourself, the Fits Me quiz does it the other way round: you say what you do and what you want, and the board shows you the open roles that fit.
